front window

Front Window echoes the title of an earlier series I created: Nightsmoker (originally titled Rear Window). I photographed and filmed nocturnal backyards in Amsterdam, attempting to capture the silence and the way you gradually discover more in the darkness. Your eyes adjust to the dark.

Front Window is a different kind of silence, analogous to the tranquillity of the night, only one that took us by surprise. But which, in a certain sense, might also be experienced as pleasant.
